(singing to the melody ”The Ship Arrives”)
SAILOR: This morning as the sun was rising o’er the ocean we arrived.
ALL: Arrived! Arrived!
SAILOR: This morning when the sun is shining o’er the ship and in our eyes. We’ll tell you of our lives, of souls and wolves and wives. Say, do you also fear to lose your freedom, reason, taste and love?
ALL: And love? And love?
SAILOR: This morning as the sun is rising o’er a foreign land in peace.
ALL: In peace! In peace!
SAILOR: This morning when the sun is shining o’er the hills and roofs and trees. In Darwin we believe, and free speech is our creed. Our captain and the boys are coming forward here to say ”Ahoy”!
ALL: Ahoy! Ahoy!
MISS MELODY: My God! Who are these people, landing here at such an early hour? What a sorry ship! What strange clothes and shoes! The sailors! The captain! The tall woman at his side! The white dwarf! They look like Europeans, poor souls…

YUSTA: Sorry! I will translate for you now. Greetings to Queen Helissa, Miss Melody and all people! My name is Captain Yusta. I am the owner of this ship here. This is Jeanette, my assistant. Here is Blondel, a friend and musician from Paris. My crew is from England: Will, Dill and Jill. We sailed from Scandinavia a month ago, through Panama, and were not allowed to stay in Los Angeles. Please help us! We are good people. We believe in Darwin, in life, in peace, and freedom of speech. Thank you.
